Ministry Description:
Native Ministries was implemented in the summer of 1996 by the North American Division through donations received from lay members. This ministry was a response to the growing need to share the gospel with the largest unreached language group in North America. The 2000 Census estimate of people in the United States and Canada with a qualifying registry blood level as Native American Indian exceeds 10 million. These people live in a cross section of demographic America.
In 1997, Native Ministries was set up to serve seven unions: Atlantic, Columbia, Lake, Mid-America, Pacific, Southern and Southwestern. Native Ministries, as a donor-driven ministry, has brought Native evangelism in North America to the forefront of the Seventh-day Adventist Church and brought the Gospel of Christ to the tribal councils of Native leaders in these union areas.
